2.10. Check of level of oil in an automatic transmission
THE GENERAL DATA

Oil level in an automatic transmission is necessary for supporting constantly at demanded level. Too low level of oil can lead to infringement in twisting moment transfer, and too high level can lead всасыванию oils, to losses and even to transmission damage.

Щуп for measurement of level of oil in an automatic transmission it is located in the left back corner of a motor compartment.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Spend a trip on distance of 15-25 km to heat up a transmission to normal working temperature (70–80 ).
2. Establish the car on an equal horizontal surface.
3. Idling the engine, the tightened manual and foot brake, move the selector handle on all positions and return to a starting position (Park). In this position of the selector and the engine idling, take щуп for measurement of level of oil and simultaneously with a level mark estimate an oil condition.
4. Wipe щуп and establish it into place.
5. Repeatedly take щуп and measure oil level. If a transmission cold, oil level has to be between two bottom labels on щупе. If the transmission is heated-up to normal working temperature, oil level should be between two top labels on щупе.
6. If a transmission cold, oil level has to be between two bottom labels, and at a hot box – between two top labels.
7. If oil level low add it through an aperture for щупа.

The prevention

Never suppose, that oil level was more than the top label.


8. The distance between labels corresponds about 0,6 l of oil.
9. If black or brown, oil it is necessary to replace colour of oil. If you doubt quality of oil, compare the sample of fresh oil and the oil which are in a transmission.
