3.3. The top dead point of the first cylinder
THE GENERAL DATA

The top dead point of the piston is a point through which takes place each piston at проворачивании a cranked shaft. Each piston reaches positions ВМТ in the end of a compression step, then again in the end of an exhaust step. For the purpose of mechanism installation газораспределения the engine the top dead point of the piston of the first cylinder is used.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Before the beginning of works on installation of the piston of the first cylinder in ВТМ, be convinced that the gear change lever is in neutral position, and a manual brake will tighten.
2. Disconnect ignition system, having disconnected an electric socket from the ignition coil. Unscrew spark plugs.
3. For installation of any of pistons in ВМТ rotate a cranked shaft one of the methods described more low. Thus rotate a cranked shaft of the engine clockwise.
4. The most preferable method is проворачивание a cranked shaft of the engine for a bolt of fastening of a pulley of a cranked shaft.
5. For economy of time it is possible to use a starter for a piston supply to ВМТ. Exact installation of the piston in ВМТ is made by turn of a cranked shaft for a bolt of fastening of a pulley of a cranked shaft.
6. Unscrew a spark plug of the first cylinder and in an aperture for a candle screw in a manometre with an adapter.
7. Rotating a cranked shaft of the engine, and observing of manometre indications, define the moment when the pressure shown by a manometre will cease to increase. It testifies that the piston of the first cylinder was established in ВМТ in a compression step.
8. Tighten a cranked shaft of the engine while the label on a pulley of a cranked shaft will not be combined with figure 0 on a plate of installation of the mechanism газораспределения, located on the forward party of the engine (it is specified by an arrow).
