5.4. Check of the fuel pump

Preliminary check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Open a cover топливозаливной mouths and include ignition. Thus some seconds should be audible a sound of the working fuel pump.
2. If the fuel pump does not work, check up a safety lock of the fuel pump. If the safety lock is serviceable, check up an electric feed circuit of the fuel pump and the relay of the fuel pump (fig. the Arrangement of screws of fastening of furnish of the bottom part of the panel of the devices closing the relay of the fuel pump, fig. the Arrangement of the main relay and the relay of the fuel pump in the panel of devices see).
3. Remove the relay and check up that to relay contacts pressure of the accumulator arrives. If pressure arrives to relay contacts, check up serviceability of the relay.
4. If pressure of the accumulator arrives to contacts of the relay and the relay of the fuel pump, disconnect an electric socket from the fuel pump and check up that pressure arrives to socket contacts at ignition inclusion.
5. If pressure on a socket of the fuel pump is present, check up grounding of the fuel pump or replace the fuel pump.

Check of the pressure created by the fuel pump

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove pressure in fuel system. Remove a wire of weight from the accumulator.
2. Using a tee, connect a manometre between the fuel filter and a fuel highway.
3. Connect a weight wire to the accumulator and start the engine in an idling mode. Under manometre indications define the pressure created by the fuel pump in a fuel highway.
4. Remove a vacuum hose from a regulator of pressure of fuel (it is specified by an arrow) and observe of indications of a manometre which should increase.
5. If after removal of a vacuum hose pressure in fuel system does not raise, check up vacuum presence in a vacuum hose. If the vacuum is present, replace a regulator of pressure of fuel.
6. If pressure in fuel system too high, check up a condition of the return топливопровода. If топливопровод in a normal state, replace a pressure regulator.
7. If pressure too low, replace a pressure regulator. If pressure does not increase, check up a condition of a submitting fuel tube, a fuel tank and the fuel filter.
8. For check of a regulator of pressure at low pressure in fuel system, remove and close a returnable fuel hose. If pressure in system increases, replace a pressure regulator.
9. Switch off the engine and in 5 minutes check up pressure of fuel.
10. Before removal of a manometre for measurement of pressure of fuel remove pressure of fuel in fuel system.
